Red Heart Knitting Yarn
Crochet and yarn question, I'm looking for your opinions.?
I've been looking around in knitting/crocheting forums and it looks like I have two strikes against me.
1. I crochet
2. I use cotton or Vanna's Choice yarn
I've come to realize that any yarn choice which comes from Red Heart (I do agree with that, it's disgusting), Lion Brand or Caron is bad. I really only use Vanna's Choice and Sugar N. Cream cotton.
I've also come to realize that crocheting is thought by many to be trashy/dorky/out of date/ ugly.
Why is this so? I'm kind of sad about that. I really don't rag on knitters.
I crochet, and there are some uses for even Red Heart yarn. I make amigurimi out of it all the time and it works perfectly. It's also great for things like dog clothes that need to hold up well but not last forever.
As for the other brands, there is nothing wrong with using them. If you find a yarn you love to touch in a color you want to use, then use it!!! There are plenty of yarn snobs in the world and the internet is one of the places they nest. Just because someone doesn't like the yarn you use does not mean there is inherently something wrong with it.
What matters in choosing a yarn is that you don't want to pick a yarn just because its what you can get by with. You want to use something you enjoy working with and will want to use the end product with. So don't make items out of yarn you hate. And don't buy expensive yarn just because someone says so when you are perfectly happy with Vanna's.
Crocheting has such a horrible wrap because of the patterns that were and are put out for it. Look at your local craft store's selection of patterns. What's there? Granny squares made into hideous vests, doilies, 5 billion ways to make an afgahn, baby clothes, and 4 books for teaching kids. Every pattern book looks like it was designed 30 years ago. Even the ones with nice new photography have the same bulky proportions on the same over-done garments as the old books. If I open one more book and it tries to tell me that a shawl is the height of both glamour and comfort, I might scream.
So what to do about this awful opinion of crochet? Ignore it. It's not anyone else's place to tell you that what you make is not cool. You like it. Who cares what they think? In fact you can change the world one person at a time by crocheting up fabulous things and showing them off.
Not everyone thinks crochet is terrible. Most people I know that don't do any yarn crafts are quite impressed that I can crochet. They don't have anything to say about what yarn I use or the fact that I can't knit. They're just intrigued that I can make yarn do something interesting. Some would say that's because they don't know any better. I like to think of it as they have an appreciation of skill of any kind.

Opal Knitting Yarn
Knitting pattern for baby socks?
I have some Opal rainforest yarn that I want to make some baby socks out of and I was wondering if anyone had a straight forward pattern they have tried before that they like that I can use the yarn for. Or if you can suggest a book with a good pattern you like in it.

Macrame Plant Hanger
My mother aged 88 has a large factory to suspend the pole has rotted macrame. Then a new hangar to be subject to

Yes I do it all time. I do everything. Can I remove the old shed, and with patience, put the plant in the new. One thing I did was cut the plant enough to make the job easier.

Kids Crochet Hooks
Love Grandma turns to another generation
This story is about a woman who learned to weave through the love of his grandmother. He took the knowledge and when they were born each of her children, she knitted things for them to feel and say is more personal to buy sewing.
When I was little, my grandmother raised me like a hook. As soon as my numbers Chubby could keep the needle She taught me to knit. After six years of age and when their eyes were not so, she gave me the needle sewing threads for her.
When I was eight, my mother knitted me a wardrobe for spring.

Like last year, I sewed, knitted sweaters and knit Sunsuites, dresses, short sets, blankets, blankets, hats and shorts for each of my five children. From the first day, children all had clothes I made special for them. My wish is that my love for knitting and dress my children and send resume, except:
When recently visited my 22 year old girl, I saw the sweater that I had to put it in his Teddy bear. This teddy bear sits on the toilets. On his desk in a room, had a banner that I created for her that she covers.
My 19 year old son is completely developed and on their behalf. It still has the crocheted baby blanket he wrapped his way home from the hospital. He has created and make your own clothes. Some imagination and rare patches for your pants and jackets. I found the shirt, sweater and short pieces made in other elements such as patches.
The 15-year-old, hiding her party dress first thing I did when I was six months. Even if she never said a word, I found him in his treasure box.
For my 10 and 12 years of age, children, I would I took note blankets at home and in each of the boys still have. These blankets are her favorite.
You owe it to yourself himself to learn to knit ... not only for himself but only for their children. It's a way to save money, but in reality it is the best feeling in the world to create clothing that your son or blankets instead of buying. Remember ... It's a rewarding feeling when children grow and still have these valuable assets.

Fashion styles are always changing. What changes this year to give birth? Fashion is up and down all year. Gold is big this season. Found in handbags, jewelry, clothing and footwear. Do not go overboard with gold, remember a little goes a long way. Do not cover not yourself in gold from head to toe, you'll be left over Christmas ornament! But shoes and a big bag of gold will look great with any what team and has not been exceeded.
Handbags are always a favorite, you can never get enough of them. Soft leather straw and fabric are in larger bags are great. Look for lots of purposes listed in the top pocket and visible on the outside. Straw is hot in all colors and new styles, crochet and applications abound.
